I-90 - FROM THE WEST (Wyoming/Spearfish/Sturgis)

Option 1 - Take exit 61 (Elkvale Road) and after passing over interstate, at first light turn right and stop at LaGrand Station for a free wildlife exhibit. Exit LaGrand Station by turning right to light and then right onto Elkvale Road. Stay on Elkvale Road as it continues and becomes Caton Blvd.
Option 2 - Take exit 57 (Hwy 16 exit/I-190); go south to the first stop light (Omaha St). Get into the left lane. Turn left (east) onto Omaha Street. Get into the right lane and take the first right onto Mt. Rushmore Rd. (8th street)

Take Mt. Rushmore Road (8th Street) south for approximately 20 miles

Approximately 5 miles after the town of Rockerville, get into the left lane and take the exit onto Hwy 16A (Mt. Rushmore/Keystone turnoff).
Gear down – follow 16A down a long downgrade into Keystone.
After the only traffic light in Keystone, proceed just one block.
At the end of the shops and restaurants will be THE BOARDWALK INN AND SUITES on the left.
Proceed past the Borglum Historical Center (Museum) for a couple of blocks.

The TRAVELODGE will be on your left just past the Convenience store/gas station.
RUSHMORE VIEW INN is on the left just after the Travelodge.
The RUSHMORE EXPRESS: just past the Rushmore View Inn, turn left on Old Cemetery Road.
The RUSHMORE EXPRESS is on the left within the first block.
THE SUPER 8 is just past Old Cemetery Road on the left at the beginning of a strip mall.

I-90 FROM THE EAST TO RAPID CITY (From Sioux Falls)

Take exit 61 (Truck 16 – Elkvale Road and becomes Catron) south about 10 miles to Mt. Rushmore Road (HWY 16 – there is a large waterslide park on your left).
Turn left onto Mt. Rushmore Road.
Follow the directions from above.
At exit 61 - stop at La Grand Station for a Free wildlife exhibit

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH (Hot Springs or Custer)

Take US Hwy 365 north through Custer (turn left at traffic light in Custer, go about 3 blocks and turn right to continue on Hwy 385)
Go past Crazy Horse Memorial to State Hwy 244. Turn right on State Hwy 244 (sign will say “to Mt. Rushmore”). If you reach Hill City, you have gone too far.
State Hwy 244 takes you past Mt. Rushmore where you will begin a 2-3 mile descent into Keystone. Hwy 244 becomes Hwy 16A (no need to turn) speed limit is strictly enforced and it is recommended to shift to a lower gear.

SUPER 8 is on the right at the end of the strip mall.
RUSHMORE EXPRESS: just past the Super 8, turn right onto Old Cemetery Road.
RUSHMORE VIEW INN: On the right, just past Old Cemetery Road.

TRAVELODGE: On the right, just beyond the Rushmore View Inn.
BOARDWALK INN AND SUITES: Past the Travelodge and on the right, will be the Borglum Historical. Center (Museum) in the curve. The Boardwalk is just past the parking lot of the museum on the right.
